We get it. It’s hard being a teen.

Knowing how to take care of your mental health is super important. But it can be difficult for teens of color facing stress from racism and discrimination to find supports that are relevant, validating, and supportive.

Teens Navigating the Talk (or TNT, for short) is a free mental health app designed by clinicians, researchers, and youth of color to improve teens’ ability to talk about, cope with, and confront their experiences of racism.

We’re launching the beta version of TNT in Summer 2024 and recruiting teens like you (yes, you!) who want to try the app and share your feedback.

Why Join?

Youth who join our beta-testing program will receive exclusive access to the beta version of the TNT app and be able to share their feedback on the app design and content to shape future versions.

  • Whether you’re a teen of color who wants to learn how to process experiences of racism or a teen advocate passionate about transforming youth mental health for yourself and your peers, we want to hear from you!

Youth must be 13-19 years old to join. If you’re 12 years old or younger, we still want to hear from you once you get a bit older. You can bookmark our website and revisit it when you turn 13 or ask your parent to sign up to be notified when we have new opportunities.

Use your voice to pave the way!

  • As a participant in the program, you will also:

    1. Have access to paid opportunities to share your experiences using the app (e.g., interviews and focus groups).

    2. Be notified when we make changes to the app based on your feedback.

    3. Have access to exclusive events with the app creators, including professors at Columbia, Stanford, and Georgia State University.

  • If you're interested in joining our beta program, please complete this short form so we can learn more about you. If you complete this form, you will be notified when TNT is available for you to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store (or access via our web app).

Youth must be 13-19 years old to join.
